Financial Assistance to Poor Students
Through this program, IRRTK enables students from poor families and orphans to continue their higher and professional education by providing financial assistance and scholarships through account payee cheques. In this current year, the underprivileged students pursuing MBBS-BDS, engineering, MBA, ITGI courses and general graduation courses were given financial assistance. The school going students from the orphan category and poor families were also given financial assistance and scholarships.
Monthly Emergency Relief
Under our monthly assistance program, widows, destitute and disabled persons who are registered with trust are provided cash assistance for sustenance through account payee cheques.
Orphanage For Boys
Darul Ehsan is the name of our Male orphanage which was established in the year 2011 at Kralapora where we provide all basic facilities to them. Besides that, we also provide a modern education system, health care, counseling, moral and physical education. In the year 2018, the home was shifted to Usumania Colony, Bagi Mehtab as the accommodation at Kralpora was not sufficient for orphan inmates. More facilities now have been arranged within the orphanage.
Medical Aid
Under this program, the trust provides monthly assistance by way of cash in terms of cheques for the medicines and treatments of poor patients. Under this activity, we grant one to seven thousand per patient at a time to the poor and needy people for their treatments.
Sponsorship for Orphans
Under this scheme, 30 orphan inmates are chosen for sponsorship. Some individual donors are also adopting some orphans for education purposes but the number is very limited, we are trying to expand it.
Child Care Protection Program
Trust conducted many awareness programs in schools about child rights protection and steps are taken for the implementation of child rights and child care protection schemes.
Agricultural Project
Our trust has completed the KDE Agricultural Project in partnership with Merry Corps USA in 12 villages of District Shopian and District Budgam. This program benefitted 1200 families for potato seeds production and the families were linked to the bank for financial assistance.
Workshops
Trust conducted many public meetings and workshops at its offices wherein young writers, students and activists participated and deliberated upon on certain issues. A team of postgraduate students of MSW from IGNOU University had one-month internship fieldwork with our organization.
Income Generating Units
IRRT Kashmir has provided financial assistance to some deserving hard-working poor persons for establishing their income generating units to generate their income for subsistence. The sewing machines were distributed to the deserving poor and orphan girls who have got training in this field for establishing tailoring units at their respective places.
Orphanage For Girls
One female orphanage, Darul Mushint was established at Singpora Pattan in the year 2012 in a rented building. We tried our best to provide all the basic facilities like modern education, moral and physical education, etc. However in the year 2016, we finally purchased a two-storied building and renovated it; a modern kitchen was constructed with the help of one generous donor, Haji Gh. Mohammad Dar. More construction work is going on to provide requisite facilities. At Present, 21 inmates are housed in the orphanage. We organize Tour Programs and counseling for them.
